South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE)

The South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) is a program of the South Australian Government taken by students in Government, Independent and Catholic schools in South Australia, as a basis for entry into Year 1 of University.

SACE is awarded upon successful completion of Year 11 (Stage 1) and Year 12 (Stage 2), the final years of secondary schooling in South Australia. SACE is recognised in all states of Australia as an entry qualification for university.

International students who have completed the equivalent to Year 11 (Stage 1) in their home country may be given advanced standing for Year 11 and proceed directly into Year 12 (Stage 2).

High School Bridging Program

Students seeking enhanced English proficiency and/or improved academic background prior to entry into Year 10 or Year 11 are advised to take an ELICOS High School Bridging Program from the Eynesbury College Academy of English.

Year 11 (SACE Stage 1)

Year 11 is a full-year (two semester) 12 unit program comprising the equivalent of six full-year subjects from the following groups, with English as a Second Language (ESL), Australian Studies and one unit of Mathematics being compulsory.
