Life Impact

Established in 1874, The University of Adelaide is one of Australia's oldest and most prestigious universities.  It is a member of the 'Group of Eight' - Australia's leading research-intensive universities.

With over 19,000 students, including around 3,500 international students from 88 countries. The University of Adelaide is associated with four Nobel Prize laureates and many Rhodes scholars.

Over 120 undergraduate programs provide enormous choice and diversity and the University has one of the best student to staff ratios in the country.  After graduation, many of our students choose to go on to postgraduate study in one of more than 200 postgraduate programs offered by the University.

Superb teaching facilities feature the most modern lecture theatre technology, state-of-the-art laboratories, worldwide database access and online teaching tools.  Universal student email makes communication and access to services convenient and efficient.

An innovative and forward-looking university.  Adelaide has major strengths in wine and food, biological sciences, physical sciences, engineering, information technology and telecommunications, environmental sciences and social sciences.

The University is small enough to provide personal interaction with teaching staff, yet large enough to offer a broad range of courses and outstanding opportunities for research.  Its research is at the leading edge of knowledge and The University of Adelaide consistently ranks high among the top universities in the Asia-Pacific region in winning research funds.
